1. When and why did you get into fashion?

My interest began when I was 14 when my mom taught me how to sew a simple zip pouch. It opened my eyes to the endless possibilities a sewing machine could bring. I wanted to study fashion after but didn’t know how serious a career I could make it into be so I went to complete JC and a degree in business at NUS. After that, I decided i couldn’t wait anymore so I went to do another degree in fashion design in Hong Kong before returning to Singapore to work for a few local companies.

2. What do you do at MM?

I design and produce collections with the team, create the prints you see in each collection and… everything else.

3. What would you be doing if you weren’t doing this?

Probably working in an art gallery because I love art history too!

4. What are your habits that the team always observe you doing?

I’m a habitual nail biter kind of person. It’s a reflex when I get nervous and I really have to stop!

5. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

Peru for sure. I’ve always wanted to visit Macchu Pichu and they have an amazing culture and the colours!!! Then off to Bolivia to see the salt plains and then to Patagonia.

Marketing & Operations Executive

1. What do you do at Minor Miracles? 

I’m in charge of operations and marketing, online and offline.

2. What is your favourite part of the job?

Getting the first dibs on the upcoming designs before everyone else!

3. Why do you work at Minor Miracles? 

It's simple. I believe in the design philosophy.

4. What do you do in your free time? 

I'm either on Netflix or hanging out with my friends.

5. What are your habits that your team always observe you doing? 

I would say.. learning! The habit of learning is very important.

6. What snack can you just not get enough of? 

I don't snack hehe.

7. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why? 

Japan. My dad spent a good number of years there so I want to revisit the places he went.

NURIN JAZLINA

Operations & Marketing Assistant

1. What do you do at Minor Miracles?

I manage our Funan store with the help of Tiveyaah and do some design work too at the studio with Dawn!

2. What is your favourite part of the job?

My favourite part is creating! Seeing flat designs on paper coming to life & deciding whether certain things would work. Besides that, whenever I'm in store, I love it when customers give me feedback either about the products or anything at all!

3. Why do you work at Minor Miracles?

Working with Minor Miracles since before their launch has been nothing but full of opportunities. I’ve been an intern, a part-timer & a full-timer now!

I’ve been given the opportunity to design & create, have relations with customers & assist them and right now, I’m learning how to manage the store and liaising with stockists. I would say I learn something new every week! Be it from customers or our mini team of 3! I get to utilise any skills I have to its full potential into the brand which is why I chose to work here after graduating :)

4. What do you find yourself wearing when you’re feeling your best?

Anything of colour/prints. Which means not black or white

5. Who is/are your style icon/s?

I am my own style icon... If not, they are @mariaalia, @sashfir, @sauf.etc

6. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

Turkey! Specifically Istanbul. It's one of the most beautiful cities in the world in my opinion with really amazing architecture. Would love to visit their beautiful mosques!
