So we asked Renae about life in Melbourne and what it's like being asian there:
I am an osteopath! It's a holistic approach to healthcare following the principle of the body’s ability to heal itself and all systems are connected as a unit.
What is one thing you like about what you’re doing?
There is a lot that I enjoy about being an osteopath. It’s all about problem solving where no two situations are the same and forming genuine relationships.
Where did you grow up and how was it like?
I grew up in inner city Melbourne. At the time I didn’t realise how lucky I was to be so close to all of the great things Melbourne has to offer whilst also being a short drive to parklands and the beach. I grew up very privileged and am very lucky for it.
I used to have a really hard time about looking and feeling different to everyone else, but now I love that I am different. Melbourne is so multicultural and it’s great to be able to celebrate being a fusion of Asian-Australian.
Waking up at 3am and then realising I have more time to sleep before my alarm goes off.
Dance more, it feels so good!
I wish I had more time to sleep.
I am desperate to go to Sri Lanka, I hear it is a great place to learn to surf.
Different shades of forest green!
Beyonce dance classes! You’re welcome.
