If you're wondering about the 'models' in our new collection, for MM2: New Horizon, we decided to shoot our collection in Melbourne this time. Not being able to be physically there for the shoot, we scouted the streets of Melbourne through our friends and instagram. Hallelujah for technology!

We found Renae through a good friend who suddenly texted us after our 'deadline' for models. She's been seeing her colleague everyday but didn't realise she would be good for the shoot. How often do we see gems in front of us and not realise they're there!

So we asked Renae about life in Melbourne and what it's like being asian there:

What are you currently doing?

I am an osteopath! It's a holistic approach to healthcare following the principle of the body’s ability to heal itself and all systems are connected as a unit.

What is one thing you like about what you’re doing?

There is a lot that I enjoy about being an osteopath. It’s all about problem solving where no two situations are the same and forming genuine relationships.

Where did you grow up and how was it like?

I grew up in inner city Melbourne. At the time I didn’t realise how lucky I was to be so close to all of the great things Melbourne has to offer whilst also being a short drive to parklands and the beach. I grew up very privileged and am very lucky for it.

How is it like being an Asian in Melbourne?

I used to have a really hard time about looking and feeling different to everyone else, but now I love that I am different. Melbourne is so multicultural and it’s great to be able to celebrate being a fusion of Asian-Australian.

What is one simple thing that makes you happy?

Waking up at 3am and then realising I have more time to sleep before my alarm goes off.

What are some little things you wish people could do to spread happiness?

Dance more, it feels so good!

What do you wish to have more time for?

I wish I had more time to sleep.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

I am desperate to go to Sri Lanka, I hear it is a great place to learn to surf.

If everything in your house had to be one colour, what colour would you choose?

Different shades of forest green!

What’s something weird that you recommend everyone trying at least once?

Beyonce dance classes! You’re welcome.
